Raindrop used steganography to locate the start of its encoded payload within legitimate 7-Zip code.5
Raindrop encrypted its payload using a simple XOR algorithm with a single-byte key.67
Raindrop was built to include a modified version of 7-Zip source code (including associated export names) and Far Manager source code.89
Raindrop was installed under names that resembled legitimate Windows file and directory names.1011

Standing S0565
Reach is how much of ATT&CK this tool touches. Coverage is how well defended each thing it does is, as a median per technique rather than a total — a total would just restate the reach. Each figure is ranked against all 825 ATT&CK software entries only where that population actually spreads. Where most of the population shares one value, a percentile would rank the tie instead of the entity, so the raw value is shown and no rank is claimed.
Reach
33rd percentile · 67% of 825 ATT&CK software entries have more Enterprise techniques.
12th percentile · 88% of 825 ATT&CK software entries have more tactics spanned.
61% of the population shares a single value across only 22 distinct values, so a percentile here would rank the tie, not the entity.
85% of the population shares a single value across only 8 distinct values, so a percentile here would rank the tie, not the entity.
Coverage
6th percentile · 94% of 825 ATT&CK software entries have more detection rules per technique.
Detection coverage S0565
109 distinct rules cover the 7 techniques recorded for this tool. The 110 technique-to-rule mappings resolve to 109 distinct rules, because one rule can cover several techniques. 84 Sigma · 25 Splunk.
